Suico falters in Paba title bout

CEBUANO Randy “Komong Bato” Suico lost for the second time as a middleweight in Australia when he was stopped by Jarrod “Left Jab” Fletcher in five rounds in a fight held in Altona North, Victoria, Australia last Friday.

This fight was for Fletcher’s Pan Asian Boxing Association (Paba) middleweight title.

The 33-year-old Suico also lost in Australia last November when he was stopped by Les Sherrington in eight rounds for the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific middleweight title.

Suico, who previously won three titles at the OPBF level at superfeatherweight, lightweight and junior welterweight, suffered his ninth career loss against 31 wins (26 KOs) and a draw.

The 29-year-old Fletcher, who is ranked number five in the world by the WBA, scored his 15th win (9 by KO) against only one loss. Suico has lost three of his last four bouts. /Correspondent Rene Bonsubre Jr.
