MANILA, Philippines—An intersection along a major road in Makati City has been closed to traffic for the proclamation rally of local candidates of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).
As early as 9 a.m. Wednesday, the corner of Chino Roces Avenue and P. Ocampo has been closed as workers put up a stage for the opposition’s campaign rally set in the afternoon.
The Makati City government issued an advisory through its Twitter account but did not say when the area will be reopened to traffic.
UNA’s national candidates will kick off its motorcade in Sampaloc, Manila this morning and were expected to converge for the proclamation rally of Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay by 5 p.m.
