MOTORIST DIES IN BIKE-CAR COLLISION

A MAN died when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car in barangay Talaga, Argao town, southern Cebu.

Chrisanto Alberca, a resident of barangay Bogo, Argao, suffered severe injuries in different parts of the body. He was declared dead at the Isidro Kintanar Hospital.

Police said Alberca overtook three vehicles in a curve portion of the road when his motorcycle collided with a Toyota Hi-Ace drive by Marvin Adlawan, 42, at dawn Monday.

PO2 Renato Nacaytura said Alberca was dragged 52 meters from the point of impact.

Adlawan of barangay Lipata, Minglanilla town, Cebu surrendered to the Argao police station after the incident. He was later released after reaching an amicable settlement with the victim’s family, police said./CORRESPONDENT CHRISTINE EMILY L. PANTALEON

BURGLARY SUSPECT NABBED

A 23-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for allegedly burgling a house in barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City.

Police said a witness identified Rolly Demana as the one who ransacked the house of Jessica Barila, 21, in sitio Salvacion on Monday night.

Barila discovered the burglary when she arrived home around 9 p.m.

Police said the thief entered the house by destroying the main door.

Acting on the tip of the witness who allegedly saw Demana enter the woman’s house, police went to the suspect’s house in barangay Looc and arrested him there.

Police found a cellphone which was one of the valuables stolen from Barila’s house in the suspect’s possession.

The suspect was detained at the Casuntingan police station pending the filing of charges against him, police said./REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS

3 PHARMACY WORKERS ROBBED

THREE pharmacy workers were robbed at knife-point by two bonnet-wearing men in barangay Tungkil, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

Lenny Joy Econa, 23; Melody Estopin, 24; and Jessica Estopin, 24, lost cellphones and other valuables during in Monday night’s robbery.

Police said the three women were walking in Villa Celina Subdivision when they were blocked by two motorcycle-riding men.

Police said the robbers pointed knives at the victims and divested their belongings.

Hours before the robbery, a house in the same barangay was burgled.
