All-star team roster named

The PBA has already released the roster that would make up the league’s all-star team that will go up against the Gilas national squad during the PBA All-Star Weekend which will be held next month in Digos City, Davao del Sur.

Leading the squad will be two-time league MVP, James Yap of San Mig Coffee along with several former standouts of the Gilas team in Alaska’s JV Casio, Petron’s Marcio Lassiter and Air21’s KG Canaleta. Reigning league MVP, Mark Caguioa, of Ginebra also made the team as well as Petron’s Arwind Santos, Jay Washington and Alex Cabagnot.

Alaska’s Cyrus Baguio and Rain or Shine’s Beau Belga along with rookies Calvin Abueva of Alaska and Chris Ellis of Ginebra also made it to the all-star team that will do battle with the Gilas team, which is preparing for the FIBA Asia Men’s Championship later this year.

The league also announced the team compositions of the Greats versus Stalwarts game.

The Greats will be made up of Noli Locsin, Johndel Cardel, Rodney Santos, Vince Hizon, Jerry Codinera, Bong Hawkins, Dondon Hontiveros, Mark Cardona, Mike Cortez, Josh Urbitztondo, Peter June Simon and Joe Devance.

Making up the Stalwarts team are Benjie Paras, Topex Robinso, Art dela Cruz, Kenneth Duremdes, Dickie Bachmann, Glenn Capacio, Ronjay Buenafe, Ronald Tubid, Chris Tiu, JC Intal, Sol Mercado and Jervy Cruz. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
