Suico to fight in Australia
Randy ‘Komong Bato’ Suico will return to Australia to challenge for the Pan Asian Boxing Association (PABA) middleweight title on April 5 against hometown boy and defending champion Jarrod ‘Left Jab’ Fletcher in Altona North, Victoria, Australia.
Suico’s last fight was on February 8 in Dalaguete, Cebu where he stopped William George in one round. Suico fought in Australia last year and lost to Les Sherrington by 8th round TKO in a WBO Asia-Pacific middleweight title fight.
The 33-year-old Suico (31W-8L-1D, 26KOs) has won OPBF titles in three weight divisions but will be fighting as a middleweight only for the second time in his career.
The 29-year-old Fletcher (14W-1L, 8 KOs) stopped Thai Kiatchai Singwangcha in seven rounds in his last fight. His lone career loss was by second round TKO to Billy Joe Saunders last year in the United Kingdom.
The PABA website pabaonline.com lists Suico as the number seven contender to Fletcher’s title. /Correspondent Rene Bonsubre Jr.
