Zapatera Elementary School was the first venue visited by the Cebu City Sports Commission to kick off its grassroots development program.

Yesterday’s event serves as the kickoff of the one-month grassroots program of CCSC, which is planning to visit 20 public schools around the city to further strengthen the Cebuanos’ engagement in sports, especially the youth.

This program was made possible by the efforts of sports patron and CCSC chairman Edward Hayco with the help of the Department of Education (DepEd).

“There were around a hundred participants and all of them looked very excited,” said Hayco. “I hope they will learn a lot from the program and we are looking forward to have more participants in the next venue that we will visit.”
