‘Barkada ni Pedro’ theme song launched today

MORE than 2,000 people are expected to witness the launching of the official theme song of ‘Barkada ni Pedro’ entitled Friends of Pedro.

The event will be held today during the celebration of the 28th Local World Youth Day (LWYD) in Lilo-an town, northern Cebu and the feast day of St. Pedro Calungsod.

Fr. Vic Amplayo, who is responsible for the theme songs of 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th LWYD, composed a new song for St. Pedro Calungsod dedicated for the online prayer community – the ‘Barkada ni Pedro’.

The theme song is performed by the group of Deserie Soscano, Jessica Gako, Joemar Paran, Juville Quijoy, Kiking Pagente, Nadia Briones and Jun Bolo from Sto. Niño Parish in Mohon, Talisay City, and arranged by Nendel Endrina.

Friendship through prayer with St. Pedro Calungsod is the main theme of the song. This message will rally both young ones and once young of all backgrounds during the celebration and beyond.
