A BARANGAY tanod that was just released on drug charges was arrested anew in a drug-bust operation in barangay Poblacion, Cordova town in Mactan Island, Cebu.
Mario Inoc, 51, was arrested last Tuesday afternoon by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) after he allegedly sold a pack of suspected shabu worth P300 to a poseur-buyer.
Five sachets of shabu were confiscated from Inoc’s possession, the PDEA said.
IO2 Jelou Anthony Paca, leader of the PDEA team, said Inoc is a level three drug pusher who could sell less than P200,000 worth of shabu a week.
Paca said Inoc has a pending case of illegal possession of firearms.
Chief Insp. Alvin Balio, Cordova police chief, Inoc fatally shot his brother several years ago but the victim’s relatives decided not to file charges against him.
Inoc is detained at the PDEA-7 office pending the filing of charges against him.
A separate buy-bust operation led to the arrest of a 33-year-old man in barangay Bacayan, Cebu City yesterday morning.
Adonis Miñoza allegedly sold a pack of shabu to a police asset when he was arrested by operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force.
Police said barangay officials had been complaining about Miñoza’s alleged illegal drug activities.
Three packs believed to contain shabu were recovered from the suspect’s possession, police said./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
