Batch 2003 turns back Class 2009 in Cecaba

DIMSUM Frito 2003 got 25 points from Joey Catipay to help the squad vanquish Fil-Ann 2009, 64-51, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Tuesday night at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Catipay’s scoring binge allowed Dimsum Frito to notch their ninth win in 12 games. He also had ample help from Gwynn Sylvester Uy who had 12 points and seven rebounds for Class 2003 which earned the win after outscoring their opponents 25-14 in the final canto.

Joseph Baluyos Jr. netted 15 points on top of seven rebounds and five assists, while Alfie Dwight Miranda Sy and Harold James Tan each scored a dozen points for Class 2009 which suffered its ninth loss against only two wins.

In the other game, Las Vegas KTV-M16 Disco ’94 whipped Wild Rice 2007, 53-49, to improve its record to 7-5 (win-loss) while dropping its victim to a pitiful 10th straight loss.

FEATURED STORIES

Anthony Chua finished with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Wellington Yu added 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for Class ’94, which ripped the game apart at halftime, 35-19.
