Café France snaps five-game skid

09:26 AM March 20, 2013

THE Café France Bakers broke out of their five-game losing slump as they came from behind to best the Informatics Icons, 84-77, in overtime in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Arena in San Juan City.

The Bakers came alive in the extra session and scored the first nine points to secure the win and even their record out at 1-1 (win-loss).

The last time the Bakers tasted victory was way back in December 2012 when they halted the NLEX Road Warriors’ incredible 24-game winning streak. Disaster soon followed as they lost their next four games in that tournament and opened the Foundation Cup with a loss to Blackwater Sports.

Raymond Maconcido and Marion Magat did the most damage in overtime as they combined for 13 points to complete the comeback from an 11-point deficit, 45-56, at the start of the final canto.

For the Icons, it was yet another bitter overtime loss after they were beaten by Boracay Rum, 85-93, in their last game. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
