Seno to compete in World Juniors net
Fast-rising Cebuano netter Jan Godfrey Seno will be playing in his second international match in a span of less than a month, this time as part of the Philippine team 14-Under which will be seeing action in the ITF World Juniors in Kuching Malaysia in April.
Seno was chosen for the event after being the second highest ranked Filipino in the recently-held Ajay Pathak Memorial Cup ITF 14-Under Developmental Championship Division 1 next to Philippine 14-Under no.1 player Albert Lim Jr.
In the first phase of the Ajay Pathak netfest, Seno finished on the 11th spot out of 27 players with three wins and two losses in the consolation/loser’s bracket. He had also partnered with Lim to grab gold in the doubles event of the main draw.
The University of San Carlos netter improved his standings to the 8th place in the tournament’s second phase after reaching the quarterfinals in the main draw. He and Lim finishing finished first runners-up in the doubles event of the main draw.
Joining him in Malaysia are Lim and Jerome Romualdez, the Philippine no.2 in the 14-Under, who placed 21st in the Ajay Pathak netfest.
Seno is currently ranked no.3 in the Philippine 14-Under with a total of 1,120 points. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
