City dancesporters rule Manila event

The Dancesport-Team Cebu City once again conquered Manila as the famed Cebuano dancers dominated the Dancesport Council of the Philippines Inc. (DSCPI) 1st Quarter Ranking and Competition by winning 18 golds, 10 silvers and four bronze medals, in the tournament held over the weekend at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Long considered to be the standard-bearers of dancesport in the country, the DTCC athletes did not disappoint and were led by several double-gold medal winners.

Capturing gold medals were the tandems of Francis Diluvio and Andreah Capangpangan, John Mocorro and Tracy Villarta, and Andrew Ysla and Christine Camacho.

Diluvio and Capangpangan won the Juvenile A classes of the Latin and Standard disciplines, a feat that was duplicated by both Ysla and Camacho (Junior C) and Mocorro and Villarta (Junior A) in their respective divisions.

The others who joined the gold rush were Romeo Cialbo and Mae Pabuaya (Special Event-Female and Grade D Standard); Carl Nathanyl Papellero and Jasmine Labra (Juvenile C Latin); Jeffrey Benarao and Mary Mae Canillo (Youth C Standard and Latin); Jojit Cabuenas & Akiko Aziako (Latin Senior A); Jimmy Noel and Elizabeth Zetz (Latin Senior C); Davin Unabia and Eleanor Hayco (Senior C Standard); Ronald Ruiz & Jocelyn Versteeg (Special Event 2 Female); Inoue Roi Rendon and Sharmaine Buen Maloloy-on (Grade D Latin) and Eo Lowen Rendon and Mary Desiree Seraga ( Special Event 1 Female & Special Event Male Latin). /Correspsondent Jonas Panerio
