SMB extends streak to four

THE SAN MIGUEL Beermen kept their hold of second place in the standings after beating the Singapore Slingers, 73-53, in the Asean Basketball League last Friday evening at the Tan Binh Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Beermen raced their winning streak to four games and did it with some good old fashioned defense as they turned what was a tight, 49-45, game heading to the final canto into a rout by holding down the Slingers to just eight points in the final stretch.

San Miguel remained in second place at 7-3 (win-loss) behind the reigning champions Indonesia Warriors after the latter beat the Chang Thailand Slammers, 74-67, earlier in the day as part of the triple-header of the event known as the ABL Hoops Fest.   /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
