210 cops hot off training camp boost poll security
A class of 210 policemen and women recently finished the grueling 45-day Special Counter-Insurgency Operation Unit Training (SCOUT) course conducted by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), with 100 of them to be deployed immediately in Navotas City.
NCRPO director Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina said previous SCOUT graduates were sent to the Manila and the Quezon City police, and that the latest batch will add to the forces in Navotas in time for the summer break and the elections in May.
The SCOUT program covers training in various skills, from combat and tactical operations to search and rescue.
A demonstration by the graduates on Tuesday showcased their skills as snipers, knife combatants, air and water rescuers, and even “blindfolded” gun assemblers. Jaymee T. Gamil
