APARTMENTS DESTROYED IN CEBU CITY FIRE

SIX apartment units were razed by fire in barangay Labangon, Cebu City.
The apartments were in a two-story building on Tres De Abril Street.
Damage was pegged at P250,000, Chief Insp. William Tacaldo, Cebu City fire marshall, said.
Investigators said there were explosions from the room of Raul Todiño before the fire broke out 10:05 p.m.
Todiño said he immediately turned off the circuit breaker but the fire became bigger.
The fire was contained in 18 minutes. No one was hurt in the fire.
About four hours earlier, fire also razed a two-story building in M. J. Cuenco Avenue, barangay T. Padilla.
The fire started in tailoring shop on the second floor of the building.

MAN FOUND DEAD IN NAGA

AN unidentified man was found on top of a concrete bench in barangay South Poblacion, Naga City, southern Cebu.
The body was discovered by Marli Pampasi, a security guard, past 5 a.m. Friday.
Police said the victim had injuries in the head believed have been hit with a hard object.
The victim wore a brown jacket, a white shirt and checkered shorts.
PO1 Alrasia Jimlari of Naga police said investigation will be made to identify the victim and determine the cause of death./Correspondent Joy Cherry Quito
