MANILA, Philippines–Residents of a village in Muntinlupa lined up on the streets to greet the candidates of the United Nationalist Alliance who drove in a motorcade to the city Friday afternoon.
The motorcade along the stretch of Vinalon Street in Barangay (village) Cupang rolled past 4 p.m., drawing residents out of their homes and into the streets as the candidates gave away candies, foldable fans and calendars.
Among UNA candidates who joined the motorcade along with the coalition’s local bets were Nancy Binay, Rep. Milagros Mitos Magsaysay of Zambales, former senator Ernesto Maceda and the wife of Senator Miguel Zubiri.
Some residents cheered as candidates waved at them. Some took pictures of the motorcade. Mothers also came out with their children tagging along to watch the motorcade.
The parade is set to be followed by a program rally at the Alabang bus station.
