Metro Manila sizzles to 33.8 Celsius – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines – It’s not yet the summer season, but on Tuesday afternoon the barometer in Metro Manila shot up to 33.8 Celsius.

Chris Perez, weather forecaster for the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, said the sizzling temperature was recorded at 1:50 p.m. at Pagasa Science Garden in Quezon City.

With the northeast monsoon almost dissipated, Perez said easterlies, or winds from the east, have started to affect the eastern portion of the country. It signifies the transition to summer.

The summer season could last up to the end of May or early June.
