The police are looking for a bus company’s security guard who escaped after he killed a woman whom he suspected of conning him Monday.
Melodio Tindoy immediately fled after he shot dead the still unidentified woman at the place where he worked, the Philtranco bus terminal, in Quezon City.
Ironically, the police were right at the scene, waiting for Tindoy to give them the signal to step in and arrest the victim.
Earlier, Tindoy called the police to ask for help after he suspected the woman of being a con artist.
According to operatives of the Cubao police station who had talked to him, Tindoy used to be a soldier until he went AWOL (absent without official leave) a few years ago.
The woman had reportedly assured him that she could help him get reinstated in exchange for cash, they added.
However, although he had already given her around P10,000, the woman had yet to deliver on her promise which made him suspicious, the police said.
On Monday, the police set up an entrapment operation but Tindoy apparently lost his cool and shot the victim five times.
Case investigator PO2 Alvin Quisumbing described the victim as between 20 and 25 years old, 5’5” in height, of medium build and dressed in camouflage shorts and a white shirt.
