Elvira Rosendo thought that surgery would solve the problem. However, it turned out that her baby’s cleft palate was just one of several health complications.
Now eight years old, Cielo Elise has been in and out of the Philippine General Hospital since 2005 due to pneumonia, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and congenital heart disease.
“We’re knocking on the hearts of your readers. We’re mired in debt. She needs medicines, therapy and vitamins for her survival. She can’t even walk. She’s practically a baby,” Rosendo, whose husband makes a living as a security guard, said.
She added that although doctors had advised them that their daughter must undergo different tests costing at least P10,000 at the National Institute of Health, she would need rehabilitation to improve her physical, mental and emotional state.
Rosendo can be contacted at 0919-6179472. Those who wish to donate to her daughter’s medical expenses can deposit any amount in her husband’s BDO account (Teofilo Rosendo, account number 007280-017190).
