Brit arrested for abusive behavior
A British national was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly subjected his 41-year-old Filipino girlfriend to verbal and emotional abuse just so she would leave their condominium unit in Quezon City.
David Huw Evans, 61, a resident of Wales in the United Kingdom, was picked up by operatives of the Quezon City Police District Talipapa station after his live-in partner of three weeks claimed the Briton had, apart from threatening to send her away, insulted and humiliated her in public at a mall.
In a report, Talipapa police station commander Supt. Michael Macapagal said the incident started when Evans refused to take his girlfriend to a mall with him.
When his live-in partner insisted on going with him, he allegedly shouted at her, “You’re crazy. You’re insane,” inside a restaurant after they arrived at the mall.
The complainant claimed that apart from telling her she was crazy, Evans kept cussing at her and saying he felt like her prisoner. “
I was scandalized because the people around us were watching us,” she said in her statement. Jeannette I. Andrade
