Tomas: Traitors not welcome in BOPK

KUSUG chairman Raymond Alvin Garcia could have joined the Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) as one of its candidates for councilor, had he allowed him to, Rep. Tomas Osmena said.

Osmeña  the young Garcia sent feelers last year that he wants to join BOPK.

But Osmeña said he will never allow a Garcia to join his group.

“I have (already) learned my lesson that you cannot trust them.  I do not like a traitor,” he said.

Garcia said in a separate interview that he never spoke to Osmeña or any BOPK member about joining their group.

He said it was  Kusug supporters Johna John Rodriguez was the one who spoke to Nanette Garong, anchor of Rep. Osmeña’s radio program, and raised the idea of making him run under BOPK.

Garong said Rodriguez and Garcia sent her text messages in September to express the young Garcia’s desire to join BOPK.  She even met with Rodriguez thrice and spoke to Garcia twice on the matter.

“In September (2012) I entertained the thought of running for councilor but Kusug is no longer active so I decided to just forego my plans,” Garcia said.

Garcia said that he was also aware that his aunt, suspended governor Gwen Garcia, will never allow him to join Osmeña’s group.

Since he is not a candidate, Raymond said that he decided to instead help in the campaign of former governor Garcia and 3rd district Rep. Pablo John Garcia who is running for Cebu governor in the May elections. /Correspondent Edison Delos Angeles
