Sabillo guns for WBO interim minimumweight crown today
MERLITO ‘Tiger’ Sabillo (20W-0L, 10 KOs) braces for the biggest fight of his five-year professional career when he battles hometown boy Luis de la Rosa (21W-1L-1D, 12 KOs) this morning for the vacant WBO interim minimumweight title.
The championship bout will be held at the Coliseo Mario de Leon in Cerete, Colombia.
Sabillo, the reigning OPBF minimumweight champion, weighed in at 103.8 lbs while De la Rosa tipped the scales at 104.8 lbs. during the official weigh-in traditionally held one day before the fight.

Sabillo is accompanied by ALA Gym trainers Edito Villamor and Michael Domingo. The 29 year-old Sabillo is also one of the citation awardees in the 31st Sportswriters Association of Cebu-San Miguel Brewery All Cebu Sports Awards on March 17 at the Northwing of SM City Cebu.
