A police official assigned at Camp Crame reportedly fell victim to car thieves in his own neighborhood.

The Quezon City Police District said Chief Inspector Christian Tarun, 32, lost his Mitsubishi Strada hours after he parked it on 18th Avenue in front of his house in Barangay (village) San Roque, Cubao.

Police Officer 3 Errol Tejaras said Tarun is assigned to the Police Community Relations Group based at Crame.

Tarun discovered the loss of the Strada (TIK-411) around 6 a.m. on Thursday as he was about to leave home for work, according to Tejaras.

The officer parked the sport utility vehicle on 18th Avenue around 9 p.m. the previous night and the complainant’s uncle, retired Senior Superintendent Jose Beltran, still saw the SUV there around 3 a.m. Thursday when he went out to sweep their compound, Tejaras added. Julie M. Aurelio
