Jeepney driver shot dead in Cebu City

A JEEPNEY driver was killed while two others were wounded in three separate shooting incidents in Cebu City.

Police identified the fatality as Alberto Rosal, 27, a resident of barangay Bulacao but a native of Bukidnon in Mindanao.

Police said there were several people when the victim was shot in Villa Bulsita in barangay Bulacao around 7 p.m. but no one claimed to have seen who shot the man.

Rosal died on the spot with a gunshot wound in the nape.

Four hours later, a 16-year-old boy was shot while he and his friends were talking by the roadside in barangay Labangon.

The boy was wounded in the face and was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center.

Police said the assailant was identified as Christian Gica, who was with a certain Gamay during the attack.

In barangay San Nicolas, Levi Tiongco, 32, was shot by motorcycle-riding assailants past 3 p.m. yesterday.

The victim’s live-in partner told police that they were waiting for a taxicab when a backrider of a motorcycle shot her partner in the back.

The victim was taken to a Cebu City hospital.
