/ 04:27 PM March 07, 2013

MANILA, Philippines—Imagine 7,500 fists raised in the air, belonging to 7,500 people jumping up and down as one mass, with their hearts—all 7,500 of them—thumping to the same beat.

Imagine drinks overflowing all night long, pushing you further and further into non-sobriety, with the freshest hiphop and RnB beats guiding each of your drunken steps.

Imagine the biggest names in the nightlife entertainment industry coming together under one roof for one night.

Now, you don’t have to imagine all these if you were at the PICC Forum last February 23.

On that day, “Adhoc: Ascendancy” took place as presented by the UP Junior Marketing Association and Jack Daniel’s, Axe Apollo, L’Oreal Professionnel, and El Hombre Tequila, together with Tosca Vodka, Solmux, SM-Youth, Slimmer’s World, El Hombre XO, PMX, Philstar.com, Neozep, Onesimus Suits and Barongs, Manila Beer Light, Manila Beer,  Medicol Advance, Moonleaf Tea Shop, Dialight and Diarichesse Gloss Treatments, 99.5 Play FM, 4th Wall and Enervon.

College students from all over the Metro were treated to the Adhoc: Ascendancy, as well-renowned DJs Jenil, Jason Dewey, Ace Ramos and ChrisMyk played only the freshest hiphop and RnB beats throughout the night, while everyone’s favorite hype-man MC Pao kept the party going.

When the clock struck 12, as per Adhoc tradition, Swedish House Mafia’s “Don’t You Worry Child” blasted from the speakers, and a pyro curtain erupted on stage. Ke$ha’s “Die Young” followed soon after, with a confetti blizzard raining on the guests.

As the biggest semestral fundraiser of UP JMA, Adhoc is for the benefit of the Kids Integrated Development through Schooling Program, which provides financial assistance to 40 public school students, and the UP JMA Scholarship Fund, which subsidizes the education of five students of the College of Business Administration in UP-Diliman.

ADHOC: Ascendancy is made possible in cooperation with WhenInManila.com, STATUS, Old Captain Rum, Circuit Magazine, INQUIRER.net, Guestlist.ph, Folded & Hung, CK Shock: Street Edition, CHALK, 2nd Avenue, and Monster Energy Drink.
