MAN HACKED BY NEIGHBOR

A 38-YEAR-OLD man was critically wounded after he was hacked in the head by his neighbor in barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City.

Police said the victim, Joviniano Parages, and the suspect, Marquin Gallos, 30, have been at odds for a long time.

Police said the two men argued when they chanced upon each other along a road early morning yesterday.

Gallos escaped after the incident.

The victim was taken to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital then transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

DRUG BUST NETS ONE

A MAN was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Damolog, Sogod town, northern Cebu.

Reynaldo Lato Monisit was arrested after he handed over a pack of shabu worth P200 to a poseur buyer past 5 p.m. last Tuesday.

Police said they have been receiving reports of Monisit’s alleged involvement in selling illegal drugs.

Police recovered four packs of shabu, eight P100 bills, drug paraphernalia from the man’s possession.

In barangay South Poblacion, San Fernando town, south Cebu, police arrested a 28-year-old after he was caught buying illegal drugs past 1 a.m. yesterday.

Police seized two packs of suspected shabu from the possession of Jose Canete Laurente.

SPO2 Victor Cuyno, desk officer of San Fernando police said that police patrolling in the area saw Laurente buying shabu from a man outside a shanty.

RETIRED TEACHER FOUND DEAD

AN 85-YEAR-OLD woman was found hanging dead from a tree in barangay Polo, Alcantara town, southern Cebu.

Police said there were no signs of foul play in the death of Sevira Libato, a retired teacher.

The woman was found suspended from a branch of an avocado tree with a nylon rope tied around her neck.

The body was found by her daughter Bernadette Peletero around 4 a.m. last Tuesday.

LABORER STABS WIFE’S FRIEND

A CONSTRUCTION worker stabbed and wounded a man whom he suspected of having an affair with his wife in barangay T. Padilla, Cebu City.

Lito Jumanoy, 48, was arrested after the incident.

Police said the victim, Roel Dedumo, a resident of barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, visited a friend in T. Padilla last Monday night.

Police said Dedumo later met with Jumanoy’s wife.

Police said Jumanoy stabbed Dedumo in the armpit when he saw him talking with his wife.

Dedumo was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center.
