First Lady Liza Marcos gets early birthday surprise from Kris Aquino, sons
MANILA, Philippines — Despite their families being on different sides of the political fence for years, members of the Marcos and Aquino families have been cordial with each other.
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos shared on Sunday a photo with “Queen of All Media”, Kris Aquino, and her sons Josh and Bimby.
“Thank you Kris, Josh & Bimby for the lovely advanced birthday cakes!” the First Lady wrote on her official Facebook and Instagram accounts.
“Such a thoughtful surprise that truly warmed my heart. Feeling very blessed,” she posted.
Araneta-Marcos will turn 67 on Aug. 21.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. previously explained that while his family and the Aquinos have been political rivals since the 1970s, their relationship has always been fine outside of politics.
According to the President, his wife considers Josh and Bimby her own nephews.
Araneta-Marcos is part of the Cojuangco-Aquino family by affinity.

The first lady’s aunt, Rosario “Sari” Cacho, was married to Pedro “Don Pepe” Cojuangco.
Don Pepe was the elder brother of former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino, who is Kris Aquino’s mother.
Cory and her husband, Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino served as central figures and enduring symbols of Philippine democracy for being catalysts of the People Power revolution in 1986, which ended the two-decade rule of Marcos’ father, then- President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.
