The Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) on Wednesday launched its camera livestreaming project that will feature the activities of two eagles in captivity.
The livestreaming will be available 24/7 on https://www.ustream.tv.
The PEF said the eagles are “active breeding pair that hopefully will be able to produce an offspring during the 2013 breeding season.”
Dennis Salvador, PEF executive director, said the project will “help us learn about the eagles and promote understanding of the species.”
“(The project is also intended) for people to understand a part of what we do and broaden public support for the conservation of the species,” he added.
The project is in partnership with the Raptor Resource Project, which is based in Iowa, USA, a nonprofit organization that specializes in the preservation of falcons, eagles, hawks and owls.
Another partner is Ustream.tv, a web-based firm that will host the live streaming.—Joselle R. Badilla
