SHS-ADC, UV dispute 19-u crown

THE BLOOD RIVALRY continues between the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) and the University of the Visayas (UV) as the two powerhouse schools clash for the title in the 19-under division of the Cebu Elite Basketball League today at the Cebu Coliseum.

The matchup was set after the Raphael’s Sports Bar-backed Eagles team demolished the University of San Carlos, 70-53, in their final game in the elimination round.

Jair Igna fired in 16 points while Rendell Senining and Arc Gabrielle Araw-Araw each had 11 points.

The Eagles wound up in second place in the standings, thus, pitting them against UV, which they beat 56-55 earlier in the week.

In the 16-under finals, UV battles USC South after the former beat USC North, 72-38, and the latter got past SHS-AdC, 53-40.

In the 13-under division, UV also made it to the finals after they beat Don Bosco 49-23 in the semifinals.  UV takes on USC-North, which defeated USC-South, 47-35./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
