CIDG gets 9 men who broke into LTFRB exec’s house

ANGELES CITY — The police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested nine men who robbed the house of an official of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board here on Saturday.

Attorney Jonathan Javate, LTFRB regional legal officer, was shot on the ear by one of the suspects, Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said.

Javate is now in stable condition, he said.

He described the robbery group that broke into Javate’s residence in Mountain View Subdivision as “heavily armed.”

Javate, who is in his early ’50s, apparently fought back using a gun and managed to call the CIDG for help.

It was not yet known if the incident was related to his work at the LTFRB.
