Houseowner survives strafing

The house of a contractor was strafed by an unidentified gunmen in barangay Arpili, Balamban town, southwest Cebu.
No one was hurt in the shooting.

Claudio Ulbenario, owner of ULV construction firm, said he was watching TV when his house was peppered with bullets past 1 a.m. yesterday.

Ulbenario said he immediately ducked  under a table after hearing the bursts of gunfire.

The  bullets damaged glass windows, police said.

Ulbenario told police that he had been receiving death threats through text messages before the strafing.

PO3 Celso Diaz, police investigator of Balamban police station, said Ulbenario claimed he started receiving threats after he asked his live-in partner whom he accused of stealing his money to move out.

Diaz said they asked Ulbenario to show the text messages for the investigation.
