MANILA, Philippines—A father took hostage his family at their home in Caloocan City Thursday morning, police said.

Desk Supervisor Ronaldo Param said the still unidentified head of a family took hostage his wife and two children inside their house on Phase 2 in Barangay (village) 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City around 9:30 a.m.

The incident is still ongoing as of posting, Param said.

According to Param, the information reaching their station said the suspect is armed with a kitchen knife.
