MANILA, Philippines — Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats will carry senatorial bets from the House of Representatives, its vice chairperson and House minority leader Danilo Suarez said on Wednesday.

In a press conference, he said they would support their House colleagues Zambales Representative Milagros Magsaysay, Aurora Representative Juan Edgardo Angara, Cagayan Representative Jack Enrile, and San Juan Representative Joseph Victor Ejercito.

He said he would endorse Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, Cynthia Villar, and Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero to his constituents in Quezon province even if Lakas-CMD chooses not to carry them in its slate.

The Lakas-CMD, in the absence of its own senatorial bets, has earlier announced that it would back candidates from other political parties for the midterm elections.

Suarez said that they are planning to meet to select “top notch lawyers” by March to provide the senatorial candidates they choose to field legal support.

“The party will spend for it. We will get top notch lawyers and support candidates through legal support,” he said.
