Hotel, Golf win, share 2nd spot
TEAM Hotel trounced Team Golf, 95-88, Saturday night, while Team Charlie crushed Foxtrot, 74-65, to share the 2nd spot in the team standings with identical 7-3 win-loss records in the 2nd elimination round of the Center Katipunan A. Lopez Christian Organization (CEKALCO)-2013 Second Season basketball tournament.
Hotel and Golf finished the opening half tied at 50-all before the latter outscored the former, 25-22 in the third for a, 75-72 lead entering the fourth period.
However, Hotel responded with a blistering 23-13 run with skipper Kelvin Cinco draining 15 of his 57 points in that stretch for Hotel’s seven-point win.
Kelvin Cinco had a night-high 57 points spiked by five trifectas to power Team Hotel while Kit Arellano and Gino Almencion paced Golf with 34 and 16, respectively.
In the main game, Foxtrot led, 17-14 in the opening period before Charlie unloaded a, 28-14 bomb in the second and maintained its double-digit advantage the rest of the way.
Team owner Richard Gubaton unloaded 21 points to lead Charlie while Coronel Baculio and Estoy Panerio combined for 21 markers. Moises Craso and Erik Yee paced Foxtrot (3-7) with 19 and 13 points, respectively.
