Woman killed

A 52-year-old woman was fatally shot by an unidentified gunman in barangay Liburon, Carcar City, southern Cebu.

The victim, Felma Lopez, 52, of barangay Poblacion, Sibonga town, southern Cebu, suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Residents in the area told police that bursts of gunfire broke out early morning last Wednesday.

The woman was later found slumped on the ground bathed in her own blood.

Police recovered a bullet and a deformed 9mm slug near the victim’s body.

The victim was rushed to Carcar City District Hospital but the attending physician declared her dead.

Police said they recovered a small pack of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia from the woman’s pocket./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
