Man gunned down in Balamban
A 38-year-old man was shot dead while heading home in barangay Buanoy, Balamban town, southwest Cebu.
Melchesedek Francisco Demate succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of the body. He was brought to a hospital but was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
Police said that prior to the attack, the victim and his friends Armand Calimbayan and a certain Raymond attended a birthday party at the house of Rudy Restauro.
The victim and his friends decided to go home separately past midnight yesterday.
Police said Demate was about 20 meters from his house when he was waylaid.
Police recovered three empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol in the crime scene.
Police are still investigating the motive of the attack.
Two teenagers were wounded in a separate shooting incident in barangay Pitogo, Consolacion town, northern Cebu.
Kleefton Donaire, 19, and Cyrus Sultones, 16, were wounded in their bodies. The two were brought to a hospital in Cebu City.
Police said the victims were attacked while walking home after attending a benefit dance past 3 a.m yesterday.
Police said one of the victims had an argument with a man during the benefit dance.
