Mandaue to get 7 new RTC branches
President Benigno Simeon Aquino III approved last week the creation of seven new Regional Trial Courts in Mandaue City.
“We are very happy with the passage of this measure. Many of our judges, lawyers and litigants will surely welcome this law creating additional courts, which will advance the effective delivery of justice and promote law and order in our society,” said Rep. Luis Gabriel Quisumbing of Cebu’s 6th district.
The creation of the new RTC branches is contained in Republic Act 10363 which was signed by the President into law last Jan. 28.
Quisumbing thanked Sen. Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., who filed Senate Bill No. 3107 and Senate Committee on Justice chairman, Francis Joseph Escudero after filing the Senate Bill 3034, for their support with the proposal.
Both Senate bills were counterpart measures for the creation of additional RTC’s in Mandaue City.
RA 10363 stated that “The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Justice, shall immediately include in the Court’s program the implementation of the this Act.”
