Tejero fire victims receive assistance

More than 200 families victimized by the fire in barangay Tejero, Cebu City received assistance from the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

CCCI member companies and partners such as Qualfon, 6R Mercantile, Islands Souvenir and Marco Polo Plaza Hotel donated goods for the recipients.

Goods included clothing by Qualfon,  diapers by 6R Mercantile, T-shirts by Islands Souvenirs and towels, linens and blankets by Marco Polo Plaza Hotel.

CCCI trustee Mary Ann Alcordo-Solomon spearheaded the distribution of goods  with CCCI officer James Carlo Miole last July 29 at the Tejero barangay hall.

Other items such as glasses and mineral water were also distributed to the 200 families rendered homeless by the fire through CCCI’s corporate social responsibility program “Chamber Gives Back.”

The program coordinates with the chamber’s disaster coordinating committee headed by Samson Tiu in extending help to individuals suffering from disaster, calamities and other unforeseen events.

Reaching as far as Leyte for the flood victims and recently Tejero, the CCCI has scheduled another outreach activity in barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City within this week to distribute goods to fire victims.

CCCI acknowledged its donors and supporters who have always been part of its outreach projects.
