Taxi, PUJ drivers robbed in M’daue, Cordova town

ROBBERS preyed on a taxi driver and jeepney driver in Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu cities on late Sunday evening and early yesterday morning.

At 10 p.m. on Sunday, two armed robbers held up taxi driver Bernabe Yhapon, 32, along United Nations Avenue in Mandaue City.

The robbers took Yhapon’s P2,800 earnings for the day, Yhapon’s cellphone worth P800, and his rented Cool Taxi cab.  Yhapon told police that the robbers flagged him at barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City and asked that they be brought to barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City.

Police were still investigating the incident.

At 2:30 a.m. yesterday in Cordova town, a man and a woman robbed PUJ driver Edwin Munasque at the highway in barangay San Miguel. Munasque said he was cruising along the highway when  a woman flagged him. When he stopped, an man came out from the dark and asked for his wallet.
