The father of kidnapping-slay victim, Ella Joy Pique, visited the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-7) yesterday to ask the agency to identify a man who tried to stab him after the hearing of the case at the Palace of Justice last Tuesday.
Renante Pique said based on the reports he received that the man who tried to stab him using a barbecue stick is a brother of Bella Ruby Santos, the suspect in the kidnap-slay of his 6-year-old daughter.
His lawyer, Innocencio Dela Cerna said before they take legal action, the man should be identified first by CIDG-7 investigators.
The lawyer said “we will not take the law into our hands, and the reasons why we are asking the CIDG-7 to further investigate” Pique’s claim.
If the suspect will refuse to appear at CIDG-7 for investigation, dela Cerna said, they might file charges against him.
“Right from the start, the Pique family was in danger and CIDG really needs to conduct serious investigation for this matter”, said dela Cerna./Correspondent Chito O. Aragon
