SM City Cebu hosted this year’s Angels Walk to mark the Autism Consciousness Week.
Together with the Autism Society of the Philippines-Cebu Chapter and various agencies, the activity started with a Holy Mass at the Northwing Atrium on Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. Angels Walk started at 10 a.m. going to the main mall.
More than 200 family members, professionals and supporters walked around the mall clad in green shirts, with the green angels4autism baller bands and placards.
The term “Autism Angel” was adopted by the Autism Society Philippines (ASP) to refer not only to individuals with autism, but also to advocates and supporters. After all, it takes an angel to embrace a child with autism.
A photo exhibit at the 2nd level of SM City Cebu dubbed “Colors of A Spectrum” was formally opened by Autism Society of the Philippines.
Photographs taken by the children with autism are on display at the exhibit.
