Prima 5 bowlers shine in Sinulog Open

RJ BAUTISTA of PRIMA One and the PRIMA Team Five took the spotlight in the 14th Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) Sinulog Open last weekend at the Gaisano Bowlingplex .

Bautista ruled the masters event while PRIMA’s Andrew Yap, Luke Bolongan and Jerold Santos topped the team competition.

Despite placing 12th after his first six games, Bautista shocled everyone with his perfect 300 game in the eighth of the 12-game series to clinch the title. He knocked down a total of 2,737 pins in the masters event.

Yap, who played for PRIMA team five, placed second with 2,672 pinfalls while Alex Lagcao of team Dreamers rounded off the top three with 2,579 pinfalls.

In the team event, PRIMA Five had a total of 2,487 pinfalls to emerge champions. Bolongan, meanwhile, captured the singels title after chalking up 2,184. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
