Team golf whips Bravo for 5th win in Cekalco

THE Kit Arellano-led Team Golf logged its 5th win in six games (5-1) after beating Bravo of playing coach Dondon Tenchavez, 84-77, Friday night in the Center Katipunan A. Lopez Christian Organization (CEKALCO) 2013 Second Season basketball tournament at the A. Lopez open court in barangay Labangon, Cebu City.

Bull-strong Gino Almencion and pointguard Kit Arellano orchestrated Golf’s 22-16 opening period lead but Bravo outscored Golf in the second, 16-10 to tie the count at 32-all at the half.

In the 3rd period, Golf pulled off a, 22-18 run for a 4-point lead, 54-50, entering the final 10 minutes of the contest then added three more points to its advantage at windup for the seven-point victory.

Kit Arellano and Gino Almencion fired 27 and 23 points, respectively to lead Golf while Tata Maspiñas paced Bravo with a game-high 28 points.  /Correspondent Dale Rosal
