5 soldiers wounded by landmine blast

MAKILALA, North Cotabato, Philippines— Five soldiers and two civilians were hurt when a military truck hit a landmine  in a remote village here Friday night, the military reported Saturday.

Lieutenant Nasrullah Sema, civil-military operations chief of the 57th Infantry Battalion, said the soldiers were heading for the battalion headquarters when the landmine exploded about 11 p.m. in Sitio Alang-Alang in Barangay Kisante, Makilala.
