Mandaue police recover stolen items

MANDAUE City police recovered assorted appliances and power tools worth more than P100,000 following the arrest of two men accused of being members of “Akyat Bahay” gang.

Ronnel Barbon was arrested last Jan. 10. Jomar Bardago was arrested a week after Barbon’s arrest.

Police said a .38 caliber revolver with six bullets was seized from Barbon while Bardago yielded a .357 revolver with five bullets.

The two men were detained at the Mandaue City Jail.

Senior Insp. Ramil Morpos, chief of the Theft and Robbery Section of the Mandaue City police, said the two men sold the recovered items at a cheaper price.

Recovered items included four central processing unit (CPU) and one computer monitor, a Sony Bravia flat TV, a welding machine, one compressor and two folding bicycles.

Charges of illegal possession of firearms have been filed against the two men.

Morpos said they are still waiting for complainants to show up before they could file theft charges against the suspects.
