Prosecutor shot in Cebu court remains in ICU
MANILA, Philippines—The prosecutor shot by a Canadian national inside Cebu City Palace of Justice can now move and speak but still has not regained her sight.
Prosecutor Ma. Theresa Casino, who was shot in the neck by Canadian John Pope last Tuesday, was taken to the Cebu Doctors Hospital in Cebu City. Prosecutor General Claro Arellano said she remains at the intensive care unit.
The bullet is still lodged in her skull as doctors continue to monitor her condition before undergoing surgery.
The Prosecutors’ League of the Philippines has already released an initial amount of P100,000 to help Casino.
