A book on 38 years of government service of former environment secretary and Manila mayor Lito Atienza will be launched at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Maynila Ballroom of Manila Hotel, to coincide with the 46th birth anniversary of his son Kim, a TV host.

The autobiography, entitled “Light from my Father’s Shadow,” is a celebration of the principles of public service his father, Liberal Party stalwart Jose “Don Pepe” Atienza Sr., lived by and which he passed on to him.

The book details Atienza’s achievements as one of the opposition leaders during the Marcos regime, as head of the National Housing Authority; and, as Manila’s first ever two-term vice mayor who was also elected mayor, and the first mayor elected for three consecutive terms.
