J Centre ‘Corporate League’ registration until Jan. 26
ORGANIZERS of HoopStars 2013 Corporate League at the J Centre Mall have moved the registration deadline for the tournament by a week to Jan. 26 and the opening to Feb. 9 following requests from interested participating companies.
“Many of these firms, especially the hotels and those into consumer marketing, have been occupied with Sinulog-related activities,” said Joseph James “Jojo” Cornejo, HoopStars chairman and marketing consultant of J Centre Mall.
“They needed time to work on and complete the documents we required them to submit,” he said, adding that “we will also need time to review and cross-check the documents.”
The inter-company basketball tournament will be held at the roof deck basketball court of J Centre Mall until March 24 with two games played daily at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. but may now include games on Sundays.
Companies organized under Philippine laws may join the league, disclosed Cornejo.
At least 10 players of the 15-man roster of every team must be regular organic employees of the company, while the rest may be staff of direct suppliers or direct service providers like consultants, he said.
