Busy schedule today for Don Bosco teams

The Don Bosco Technology Center will have its hands full today as its football teams see action in 17 of the 20 scheduled matches of the 15th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

All matches in the Players 8 category will feature a Don Bosco team starting with Don Bosco A going up against Bright Academy A.

Don Bosco A will gun for its first win in the tournament after dropping its first two matches in bracket A.

The team is expected to face an uphill climb as it goes up against the current bracket leader Bright Academy, which has won all of its two matches so far.

Although it shares the same number of points as Springdale A, it owns the top spot by virtue of its 13-point goal difference. Springdale A has a -2.

The other bracket A match will see cellar dweller Don Bosco 2 going up against Bright Minds in Action Learning Village (BMALV), who is currently at third place in the bracket.

Other matches will have Don Bosco 1 facing Warzhockz, Don Bosco C against Canduman, Don Bosco E up against St. John Kenty, Don Bosco 4 hoping to win against Children’s Paradise Montessori School (CPMS), Don Bosco D versus Hijas de Jesus and Don Bosco F facing Ateneo.

Five Don Bosco teams will also be playing in the Players 10 with Don Bosco 3 hoping to take over bracket A third place from its opponent—the Warzhockz. While both teams have three points, Warzhockz is ranked higher because of its five-point goal difference against Don Bosco 3’s three.

The rest of the matches will be played by Don Bosco 1 against Dinamo, Don Bosco 2 versus Center for International Education (CIE) A, Don Bosco 3 facing bracket leader Canduman and Don Bosco 1 going up against CIE-B.

In the Boys 12, three of the four matches will feature Don Bosco teams as well. Don Bosco 1 will go up against CIE, Don Bosco 2 versus SRP FC and Don Bosco 3 to face Hijas de Jesus. The other match will pit CPMS against Springdale.

Only one Don Bosco team will be playing in the Boys 14 today as Don Bosco 1 takes on Ateneo-A.

The other two matches will both feature Springdale teams with Springdale A facing Hijas de Jesus and Springdale B going up against Subangdaku.
