Korean loses P100,000

A KOREAN fell prey to members of ‘Salisi Gang’ and lost more than P100,000 cash inside a restaurant in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.

The incident was recorded by the security camera of AA Restaurant in A.S. Fortuna Street.

Tae Hyun Chun and his friends arrived at the restaurant at 7:25 p.m Tuesday.

In the video, a man came in and sat in another table near the Koreans.

It seemed the man was assessing the area looking for targets, Senior Insp. Meche Gabod, chief of the Casuntingan police station, said.

Later, four men arrived and sat in a table behind the Koreans.

Police said the bag was placed behind Tae.

One of the men took Tae’s bag. They hurriedly left.

Police said the bag was later found in a gasoline station in Consolacion town.

Thieves also struck in Cebu City last Tuesday.

Cash and valuables worth P220,000 were stolen from the office of a shipping line in Cebu City.

The burglary at Lapu-Lapu Shipping Lines Corporation was discovered at 8 a.m.

Police said the burglars entered the office by destroying the padlock of the door.

Stolen were P212,000 cash and a Samsung 20-inch flat TV.

In barangay Lahug, at least P25,000 worth of valuables were stolen from a boarding house.

Neil Monredondo, 28, said he discovered that his room was burgled around 4 a.m.

Monredondo said the burglars took his wallet, clothes and shoes.

A house in barangay Calamba was also ransacked.

Inesita Cupin, 49, said the burglars destroyed the padlock of the back gate and entered through the kitchen.

The thieves then went to Cupin’s room on the second floor and took assorted jewelry worth P60,000 and electrical gadgets worth P50,000.

Khrishia Tanya Perez also reported to the police that unidentified thieves burgled her house in barangay Camputhaw at dawn yesterday.

Perez she was away and her helper Maylene Batucan, 22, was asleep when the burglars struck and took her laptop.
